Diru and Slipknot. The fanbases are FRIGHTENINGLY similar, the musical style of SK is rather Jrock-esque (especially in that they have ballads next to HEAVY metal), and there's a show/costume aspect to examine, on both sides, especially as they've changed over time.

Or if you were wanting a Japanese band...erm...Glay? XD That would be awkward. I can't really think of any to compare to Diru, from Japan >.>'
